Odds Converter: Decimal, American & Fractional Odds

BETTING TOOL

Odds Converter

Convert decimal, American and fractional betting odds instantly and compare the same price across all three formats.

Decimal Odds
American Odds
Fractional Odds
Implied Probability
Example: 2.30 = +130 = 13/10 = 43.48% implied probability

Different odds formats can represent exactly the same betting price. Changing the format does not change the underlying probability.

What Is an Odds Converter?

An odds converter translates a betting price from one odds format into another. The three most common formats are decimal, American and fractional odds.

They may look completely different, but they can represent exactly the same price.

For example, decimal odds of 2.30, American odds of +130 and fractional odds of 13/10 all represent the same betting price.

Decimal Odds

Decimal odds show the total return for every unit staked, including the original stake.

Odds: 2.30
Stake: €10
Total Return: €23
Profit: €13

Decimal odds are widely used across Europe, Canada, Australia and many international betting markets.

American Odds

American odds use positive and negative numbers.

Positive American Odds +130 = €130 profit for every €100 staked
Negative American Odds -110 = stake €110 to make €100 profit

Positive odds show the potential profit from a 100-unit stake. Negative odds show how much would need to be staked to make 100 units of profit.

Fractional Odds

Fractional odds are traditionally associated with the UK and Ireland. They show potential profit relative to the amount staked.

Fractional Odds: 13/10
Stake: £10
Profit: £13
Total Return: £23

How Are Betting Odds Converted?

Each format uses a different formula, but the underlying betting price remains the same.

Fractional to Decimal (Numerator ÷ Denominator) + 1
Positive American to Decimal (American Odds ÷ 100) + 1
Negative American to Decimal (100 ÷ Odds Without Minus Sign) + 1

Example: Converting 2.30 Odds

Suppose the decimal price is 2.30.

Decimal: 2.30
American: +130
Fractional: 13/10
Implied Probability: 43.48%

Nothing about the actual price has changed. Only the way the odds are displayed is different.

A Common Mistake

Different odds formats do not mean different value.

Decimal 2.30, American +130 and fractional 13/10 are not three different prices. They are three ways of displaying the same price.

This becomes important when comparing bookmakers from different countries. One sportsbook may display decimal odds while another uses American or fractional odds, even when the underlying price is identical.

Why Is an Odds Converter Useful?

An odds converter makes it easier to compare prices when sportsbooks, betting sites or markets use different odds formats.

It is particularly useful when reading betting analysis from different countries. A UK article might use fractional odds, a US sportsbook may display American odds and another site may use decimal odds.

Converting them into a format you understand makes it much easier to compare the actual price rather than being distracted by how the number is written.
