Oklahoma vs Denver Game 7 – Total Domination from the Thunder

🗓️ Game played on May 18, 2025

When the stakes couldn’t be higher, everyone expected fireworks. The Oklahoma vs Denver Game 7 was supposed to be a thrilling finale to an already epic series. And for the first quarter, we got exactly that – energy, intensity, and balanced scoring. But once the second quarter started, it was all Oklahoma – and they never looked back.

 The Second Quarter Storm

Denver entered the game strong, leading 26-21 after the first quarter. Jokic and Murray looked focused, while Gordon was attacking the glass hard. But what followed was something no one expected.

Oklahoma erupted for a stunning 39-point second quarter, flipping the game on its head. The Nuggets, who seemed composed, fell apart on both ends of the floor. With back-to-back threes, fast breaks, and relentless drives, the Thunder went on a huge run and ended the half leading 60-46.

Third Quarter Explosion – Game Over

The Thunder didn’t slow down.

They dropped another 37 points in the third quarter, pushing their lead to over 30 points, and at one point even flirting with a 40-point advantage. It was eerily similar to Game 2 of the series, where Oklahoma also dominated and left Denver helpless.

By the time the fourth quarter started, the outcome was obvious.

Final score: 125 – 93.

Standout Performances

The Oklahoma vs Denver Game 7 spotlight was once again firmly on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who dropped 35 points and looked like a true MVP. His ability to control the pace, create space, and attack in transition was unmatched.

Right beside him stood Jalen Williams, who bounced back after a poor Game 6 and posted a dominant 24 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists. A true all-around game from one of the league’s brightest young talents.

Holmgren was reliable with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Hartenstein added 10 and 7, playing tough in the paint.

Defensively, Alex Caruso was an unsung hero – scoring 11 points and guarding Jokic in key moments with aggressive, physical defense that set the tone early on.

 Denver Falls Short

This was a night to forget for the defending champs.

Despite Jokic’s 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists, he was clearly frustrated and couldn’t get into rhythm. Caruso and Holmgren constantly disrupted his flow. C. Braun chipped in with 19 points, while Murray added 13, but it wasn’t enough to counter Oklahoma’s firepower.

Gordon had only 8 points, but pulled down 11 rebounds, though his impact was minimal beyond the stat sheet.

 Western Conference Finals Are Set

With this blowout win, Oklahoma moves on to face Minnesota in what promises to be an electrifying Western Conference Final. Both teams are packed with shooters, defensive intensity, and young stars – this is going to be a series fans won’t want to miss.

Meanwhile, Denver heads into an early offseason – time to regroup and rebuild. One thing’s for sure: with a core like Jokic and Murray, they’ll be back.
