If Game 3 was chaotic, Denver vs Oklahoma Game 4 was downright gritty. The Oklahoma City Thunder evened the series with a 92–87 win over the Denver Nuggets in what can only be described as a tense, low-scoring slugfest.
Both teams came out stiff, nervous, and ice-cold. Denver scored only 8 points in the first quarter, while OKC wasn’t much better with 17. The pressure of the playoffs was in full force — and the score reflected it.
Let’s keep it real: this wasn’t about elite defense — it was about missed shots. Wide open jumpers clanged, free throws went begging, and even the MVP candidates looked like they were feeling the weight.
But sometimes, that’s playoff basketball — ugly, uncomfortable, and all about mental toughness.
Denver started slow, but woke up in the second quarter, and by the third, they finally looked like the defending champs. A strong run gave them the lead heading into the final period, and it looked like OKC had run out of answers.
But then came the turning point.
With the Nuggets up 73–72, the Thunder exploded.
They went on a clutch run and flipped the game upside down — building a gap that Denver couldn’t close.
The two MVP candidates finally showed signs of life — even if they weren’t flawless.
Both were far from their peak form, but still led their teams when it mattered most. Shai hit several big shots in the fourth quarter, while Jokic fought through constant contact to keep Denver close.
For the Nuggets, Aaron Gordon continues to be a warrior in this series. He finished with 15 points and an incredible 16 rebounds, battling for every loose ball. He’s been Denver’s most consistent presence throughout the series.
Also worth mentioning: Christian Braun, who came in with confidence and hit some timely shots to keep the Nuggets alive.
The series now shifts to Oklahoma City, where the Thunder will have home-court advantage for the next two games. If they defend their house — they move on. Simple as that.
But don’t count out Denver. They’ve already stolen one on the road in this series, and they know what it takes to win big games in hostile territory.
With the series now tied 2–2, Game 5 is shaping up to be the turning point.
Can Jokic bounce back and lead his team like a true MVP? Or will Shai and the Thunder prove they’re ready to take the next step?
One thing’s for sure — Game 5 will be a war.
Whoever takes it, takes momentum.
Whoever loses… faces elimination pressure.
Stay tuned — because this series just got real.
Game 4 won’t go down as a classic, but it was a massive win for OKC. It showed grit, patience, and just enough poise to take down the champs.
The series is tied — and the real battle is just beginning.
