Oklahoma vs Denver Game 1 was magical! The Western Conference Semifinals kicked off in spectacular fashion as the Denver Nuggets pulled off a 121-119 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder, thanks to Aaron Gordon’s clutch buzzer-beating three-pointer. Despite trailing for most of the game, the reigning champions showed poise, experience, and killer instinct to take a 1–0 series lead.
Once again, Nikola Jokic proved why he’s one of the most dominant forces in the league. The two-time MVP finished the night with a monstrous 42 points, 22 rebounds, and 6 assists, putting the Nuggets on his back during the clutch moments of the fourth quarter. From footwork in the post to crafty passes and soft-touch finishes, Jokic did it all.
The Thunder had complete control through the first three quarters, at one point stretching the lead to over 15 points. With their crowd behind them, they looked composed, confident, and physical on both ends of the court.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was elite as always, dropping 33 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists. His pace, footwork, and shot creation gave Denver’s defense major problems. But aside from Shai, the only real offensive support came from Alex Caruso, who had 21 points and 6 assists — stepping up big time on a night where other OKC role players were unusually quiet.
As the fourth quarter ticked down, Oklahoma lost rhythm. Missed free throws, broken plays, and poor defensive switches allowed Denver to slowly chip away. They looked rattled in the final two minutes — unsure of how to close the game.
Then came the dagger. With just seconds remaining, Denver drew up a well-executed play that ended with Aaron Gordon sinking a wide-open corner three at the buzzer. Game over. Crowd silenced. Denver up 1–0.
Gordon was huge throughout the game with 22 points and 14 rebounds, while Jamal Murray added 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists, giving the Nuggets the backcourt leadership they needed.

This was a statement win for the Nuggets, proving they can weather storms and still strike when it matters. But for OKC, it’s a painful lesson in playoff basketball — it’s not about how you start, but how you finish.
Game 2 is set to stay in Oklahoma City, and Thunder fans will be eager to see how their squad bounces back. Expect adjustments, tighter rotations, and a whole lot more urgency. This series? Far from over.
